Sarah Sidders, About
Sarah Sidders Designs is a one woman company based in Blandford Forum, Dorset. I am a designer maker of Children's clothing and accessories. My products are handcrafted to a high quality finish and are made with an environmental conscience. The designs are unique and the whole process is completed by myself, using my own drawings and patterns.
All about me. I have a background in fine art but I'm seduced by textiles and following becoming a Mum of three the natural step was to go into business. My designs are inspired by the natural world, especially the lovely Dorset Jurassic and dramatic coast, the wonderful heath and woodland we have on our doorstep and of course my three children!
Sarah Sidders Creative is the sister company of Sarah Sidders Designs where I make interiors, handmade cards and woman's clothing.
Sizes All my sizes are based on the sizes issued by the London College of Fashion, the T shirt however I buy in and then applique on to err on the generous, my slim 4 year old is still in the size 2-3 yet my average to large 18 month twins are in the right sizes. Any enquiries please ask

Made with an Environmental conscience. Having visited the icecaps of the two polar regions and compared pictures of 'then and now' of the glaciers we saw I am in no doubt that we need to act to change our lifestyles, by buying Sarah Sidders Designs this is how you help to make a difference.
- All my plain fabrics are organic fair trade and to compliment them I use remnant, vintage, end of line and a few standard fabrics.
- All my packaging and stationary is 100% recycled, or I have researched the materials to discover that an alternative is a better environmental option.
- The T.shirts I buy in are made in Africa and they are either certified Organic fair trade or they are made
- The electricity we use either comes from the solar panels on our roof or is sourced by a renewable energy company
- By the end of 2012 I hope the business to be producing zero waste - all fabric off cuts are reused and eventually the tiniest pieces will be used for packaging
- Buy local, my end product will be aimed at the UK and European Market, unfortunately unless I use wool and hemp the fabric needs to sourced from abroad.
- Children grow out of their clothes so fast so I have tried to design them to last longer then a typical garment with adjustable waistlines, turn ups on trousers, dresses that can become tunic tops and have multi-purpose and multi-season use; dress them up with a matching corsage and hair ribbons or wear them with layered T shirts and leggings. The high quality should mean that they can passed on a few times once they've been grown out of it
- I urge you to wash the clothes at eco 30 degrees using an environmentally friendly washing powder and remove the stubborn stains like tomato sauce with sunshine (avoid prolonged sunshine on the darker colours). Our test piece Puffin Bib is on its third child and it still has a white chest!
Our aim is to produce beautiful and unique children's clothing
