My preference with fabric always leans towards natural materials and the fabrics I use come from five different types of sources:
- Certified organic fairtrade fabric.
- Remnants from my own long-standing collection.
- Left over stock from last year's fashion industry.
- Vintage sources.
- Patterned cotton complimenting my collection, unfortunately I can't yet afford to order printed organic fabric wholesale.
The Fairtrade Organic Fabrics
These 100% cotton fabrics are handwoven in India where the cotton is grown organically and the fabric is produced as certifired fairtrade. I am at present working with 11 colours: please see the collection below. The hand woven quality of some of the fabric occasionally offers a subtle texture and varying colour. They should be washed on a cool setting with an environmentally friendly washing powder and protected from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
